Michael Burnside

Mike Burnside is a native of Northeast Pennsylvania and a Business Administration graduate of Kings College, Wilkes-Barre. He received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Marketing and Strategic Planning. He is a graduate of the Leadership Wilkes-Barre program. He has recently completed his MA in Creative Writing at Wilkes University. He has taught at Kings College, Misericordia College, and Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
Mike is Managing Editor of Etruscan Press, a nonprofit cooperative of poets and writers working to produce and promote books that nurture the dialogue among genres, achieve a distinctive voice, and reshape the literary and cultural histories of which we are a part. Mike served twenty years with Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, where he was active in the introduction of cable TV, cellular telephony and Internet services. He was director of New Business Opportunities, Corporate Communications, Human Resources and Marketing.
From 2000 to 2005, he was Vice President of Corporate Communications for WVIA Public Broadcasting, the NPR and PBS affiliate in Northeast PA.
He is a founder and President of Wolery Associates Incorporated, which provides information retrieval and analysis, strategic planning and communications services.
Mike is active in several community endeavors, having served as a school director for twelve years, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Great Valley Technology Alliance and the Luzerne County Historical Society.
