Jorge L. Coronel
Jorge L. Coronel is an entrepreneur, information technology consultant, management consultant, and current President of Coronel Management Group, Inc. (CMGI).
Mr. Coronel founded CMGI to function as a management organization to operate various leading edge technology and internet businesses which deliver real world solutions to regional, national and international markets. In addition via CMGI, Mr. Coronel brokers IT services in Northeastern Pennsylvania which extends software development, networking engineering, system integration and various other IT services via a large network of technology professionals. CMGI’s software solutions primarily consist of database driven systems deployed in traditional enterprise environments or via the Internet as sophisticated web applications. CMGI continues an emphasis on quality solutions via the utilization and adherence to proven software engineering and system integration processes. As a full service integrator CMGI also provides installation and support of Microsoft Networks and emerging technologies.
As a consultant, Mr. Coronel brings with him the broad perspectives required to understand management, operational, process, and system issues driving technology requirements of various industries. Mr. Coronel’s capabilities come from over 15 years of hands-on experience as a business consultant, project manager, system architect, system developer, programmer, and network engineer. Mr. Coronel is a Microsoft Certified Professional specializing in analyzing requirements and defining solution architectures. Mr. Coronel has designed solutions for various industries including leading manufacturers, distributors, financial institutions, service organizations, government and technology firms.
Mr. Coronel’s abilities have at their foundation a strong base of continuing education. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, with an emphasis in Marketing Information Systems, from the Pennsylvania State University. He has completed the majority of graduate work for an MBA in marketing and an MBA in finance from the University of Scranton. He actively attends yearly tradeshows, conferences, seminars, and specialized training on topics ranging from E-business to Business Process Improvement.
Mr. Coronel is originally from Mexico and moved to Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania in 1981 where he currently resides with his wife, Tammy. He has two children, Christian and Tawni. As a bilingual individual (English and Spanish) he also actively participates in the international undertakings of CMGI.
Mr. Coronel serves on the Board of Directors of the Great Valley Technology Alliance, the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Kings College and the Board of Trustees for the United Methodist Church of Chinchilla. Mr. Coronel is also a member of the Advisory Committee for Penn State’s IST Program; a member of the GVTA Planning Committee; a member of the GVTA Technology Committee; a Co-Chair of the Northeast PA Technology and Information Exchange (NOTIE). Mr. Coronel also served as a 2005 Judge for Pennsylvania Best 50 Woman in Business, and Vice Chair for Latino and Hispanic Relations for the Boy Scouts of America Northeastern Pennsylvania Council; Mr. Coronel is a former Co-Chair of the Homeland Security STARS team, member of the Rotary Club of Scranton, Co-Chair of the United Way’s Major Firms Division; PART Committee. Under Mr. Coronel’s leadership, his various business entities have contributed in-kind or in cash to the following organization and initiatives: Great Valley Technology Alliance, Computer Contest, Rotary Club of Scranton, United Way of Lackawanna County, PA Junior Academy of Science, United Neighborhood Centers, HeadStart, NOTIE, NEPA Alliance, Penn’s Northeast, Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society of Lackawanna County, Entrepreneurial Network and Business Plan Competition. Mr. Coronel was instrumental in the design and development of the highly successful WorkNEPA Quality Job Portal of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Mr. Coronel’s proven business experience, technical expertise, high ethical standards, and community service have made him a well-respected business leader in the community. Mr. Coronel is an active public speaker on topics such as entrepreneurship, leadership and technology.
