John Daly
John Daly’s roots in this area began back in 1980 when he traveled from Commack, New York to attend the University of Scranton, where he attained a B.S. in Accounting and Philosophy, and an MBA in Finance and Operations. He then started his professional career in the public accounting field working in both New York City and Philadelphia, in the manufacturing and technology industries. In 1988 John returned to the area to work for what is now known as Cinram Manufacturing.
Today Mr. Daly serves as the Vice President of Operations for Cinram Manufacturing in Olyphant, Pa. The Olyphant site is the world’s largest single facility responsible for the replication, packaging, and distribution of Compact Disc, CDROM, and DVD – making more than 2,500,000 discs a day. The Olyphant facility has also just recently successfully launched both formats of the new High Definition DVD optical disc. The advancement of technology is vital for their organization in order to remain competitive in the global market in which they compete.
Mr. Daly became involved with GVTA shortly after being introduced to Chris Haran and learning of what he feels is the amazing role the GVTA has with regards to the Annual Business Plan Competition. He signed on to be one of the judging panel members, responsible for reviewing and ranking each of the submitted plans, and feels it is a very exciting, interesting, and fulfilling position.
