David E. Raven
David E. Raven is president and chief operating officer and a director for Pennstar Bank. Dave also serves as Executive Vice President of NBT Bancorp, Inc. Pennstar Bank is a community bank headquartered in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The bank serves customers from 40 locations in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Pennstar Bank is a division of NBT Bank, N.A. under the parent company of NBT Bancorp Inc.
Raven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Maine and an MBA from New Hampshire College. He began his banking career at the Merrill Trust Company in Maine, which was later acquired by the Fleet Financial Group. While at Fleet, Raven worked in the areas of commercial lending and retail banking and ultimately attained the position of vice president and district manager for the Capital Region in New York State. Raven joined NBT Bank in 1996 as vice president of the bank's Sales and Administration Division. In 1999, he advanced to the position of senior vice president. Raven was named to president and chief operating officer of Pennstar Bank in August 2000.
Raven currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Lackawanna County, Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and the Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises. He also serves on the Pennsylvania Bankers Association State Government Relations Council, Agency Relations Committee. He resides in Moscow, Pennsylvania with his family.
